“I just watched the video you sent. I am so scared. I am so tired of failing. Everything he said—he was talking to me. I have undone everything I worked so hard on, and it is so hard to restart because I have seen and experienced how easy it is to fall, even when I felt so good. And the cravings never go away.”
These words came from a woman wrestling with the weight of food addiction and the deep discouragement that comes with feeling like she’s failed—again. She had watched a video exposing the grip of sugar and processed foods, how they keep so many bound, and how our culture urges us to "just eat the cake," minimizing the very real struggle. For many, food has long been tied to emotions, comfort, and even childhood coping mechanisms. When trauma is interwoven into this relationship with food, the battle for freedom can feel unbearable.
Many individuals fight this battle—I have so much admiration for those who keep getting back up and trying again. My own story of back-and-forth progress aligns closely. It has inspired me to equip and empower individuals to take ownership of their well-being, embracing their unique journey with common sense and ancestral wisdom as their guide.
There is always hope. There is always a way forward. And that way is not found in sheer willpower but in Christ.
This is the encouragement I shared with her:
This is Your Cross—But You Are Not Carrying It Alone.
I’m glad you listened to the message, even though, yes, it is heavy.
This is definitely a cross. ✝️
But just because the temptation remains doesn’t mean His grace can’t carry you through.
This is the sin cycle—at work. He is trying to wake you up—God is allowing this for your spiritual growth. ✨️
Fear is a liar. It keeps us trapped, whispering that we will fail, that we will never overcome, that we are not strong enough.
But here’s the truth:
Freedom doesn’t come from never struggling again.
It comes from embracing detachment and leaning on Him in our struggle.
A Journey of Letting Go—embrace it.
Life is a continuous process of letting go—of my way, distractions, and fear—so we can come into alignment with who we were truly created to be.
A Return to Simple is a Return to God.
The simplicity of real food, real nourishment, and real presence with God and ourselves—this is the way forward.
Yes, the cravings and struggle may still come in a whisper or even a loud voice. But we walk in freedom when we stop trying to carry it alone and instead turn to him in our weakness with our true-hearted spirit—leaning into His strength.
You are not failing.
You are being refined.
And you are never alone.
Keep walking. Keep surrendering. Keep trusting.
Your journey back to simple leads you straight back into the arms of the One who made you.
Never forget how often God answers our prayers through others—He doesn’t expect us to figure it out or walk the journey all by ourselves—that is a lie.
Does this resonate with you?
